Why Little Paws Playcare?

  • Home-Style

Dogs have free range of both indoor and outdoor areas for the duration of their stay. We have multiple couches and beds to maximise comfort.
  • Indoor & Outdoor

Our outdoor fully enclosed garden space has a motorised roof so dogs have access rain, hail or shine!
  • Small Breeds Only

We have a weight limit of 15kg for safety and comfort to prevent our dogs feeling overwhelmed or fearful whilst allowing new dogs and puppies to build confidence socialising.
  • Selective

All dogs must pass a trial to attend playcare. We want to ensure your dog will be happy in our care and doesn't display anti-social behaviours such as resource guarding and excessive barking.
  • Safety First

We do not risk the many dangers of dog parks or off-leash walking, so dogs remain at the daycare for the day. Your dog will receive plenty of enrichment without the risk!
  • Balance

We ensure dogs (especially puppies) are not over-stimulated and are prompted to have regular breaks. Your dog will come home exercised and enriched, but not exhausted.

FAQ

Find the most frequently asked questions below.
  • We can take your puppy as soon as he or she has been vaccinated and cleared by your vet for socialisation!

  • We are open 7am-6pm Monday to Friday and 9am-5pm weekends and public holidays.

  • Unfortunately we cannot accept non de-sexed dogs over 9 months of age. If your vet has recommended waiting until 12 months, we can assess this on a case-by-case basis based on behaviour and booking date.

  • You will drop your dog off at playcare for 2 hours during which time a staff member will monitor how your dog interacts with the group. We will not accept any dogs that display signs of aggression, including resource guarding (we like sharing toys). We also want to make sure your dog is going to be comfortable for the day.

  • We provide a fully enclosed and multi-area outdoor space filled with enrichment and new smells. We know this space inside and out and there are no external factors that may impede your dog’s health and safety. With frequent reports of dog attacks and baiting at dog parks and beaches, we just don’t believe it is worth the risk. Your dog will have plenty of space to exercise, socialise and enjoy the fresh air - in a safe space.

  • This is for the safety of all the dogs and puppies at playcare. We want to ensure that all the dogs come away with a positive experience every time they come to playcare and dog parents will never have to worry about accidents occurring.

  • Yes, we are well-versed in operant conditioning and believe strongly in the science and evidence behind practicing positive reinforcement to maintain or improve behaviour. Your dog will never be punished at playcare but rather rewarded when we see behaviour we like! Please reach out if you would like to discuss any behaviour goals or have any questions on positive reinforcement.

  • We provide no-nasty treats for your dogs however and meals can be provided at an additional charge. You can mention any dietary requirements or allergies when you register online.
